Middle School Teacher Emails:

Middle School Update December 10-14
Hello parents! We have a lot of performances that will be happening soon. Please check the bottom of this email if your child is in dance or musical theater to see what they will need to bring in.
Important Dates:
  • December 12: IDEA meeting at 6pm in library
  • December 14: Progress reports sent home
  • December 14: GoCPS applications due (8th grade)

Announcements:

  • We have learned that grade triggers have not been working this year in the parent portal. I suspect it’s because we are merging to a new grade book program over winter break and this feature may have been disabled in the merger. Please check your child’s grades today and let their teachers know if you have any questions.
  • Remind your child to email their teachers if they will be absent to see what they missed! Assignments are not just excused.
  • Students should be completing their service hours! 8th grade needs to have 20 done by the end of the year to participate in the graduation luncheon, 6th need 10 and 7th need 20 to attend the end of the year field trip to the park. Everyone should be working to complete about 2-4 per month so they can participate in our incentives.
8th Grade Parents:

Service Hours Opportunity:

HAT is in need of 2 student volunteers to help with the Cornhole Tournament on January 27 from 2-4:30pm. If interested, please email Scott Barsky (barsky33@gmail.com). He will respond to the first two that they should come–please do not just send your child on this day! We will not be able to accommodate extra volunteers.
Pennies for Patients:

Hamilton is excited to participate in the Pennies for Patients program again this year through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!  Our students will help raise money in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission to cure blood cancers and improve the lives of patients and their families.  Every little bit helps, I strongly encourage everyone to participate.  Students should have brought home forms and a collection box.  This program will run from Monday December 3rd-Friday December 21st.

If you have any questions please let Mr. Skweres (SSkweres@cps.edu) know.
