Hamilton’s mathematics program provides many different tools and strategies to developing students into confident mathematicians. Our mathematics curricula are Math Trailblazers in grades K-5 and Connected Mathematics in grades 6-8.
Our mathematics program has the following goals:
- Challenge all students to be highly proficient at mathematical computation (arithmetic) and to foster a deep understanding of the relationships between mathematical concepts (mathematics).
- Effectively utilize assessment data to provide meaningful support to individual students, thereby maximizing the growth each student can achieve at all grade levels.
- Provide a middle-school mathematics program that prepares all students in 6th grade for pre-algebraic concepts in 7th grade, 7th graders taking pre-algebra leading to High School Algebra for Middle Grade Students in 8th grade.
Mathematical skill is developed across content areas and during our after-school programs.
