HES_Teachers2010-12257-1Elisha Brandes is the special education resource teacher  for the  4th-8th grades at Hamilton.  Although this is her second year at Hamilton, she has been a special education teacher for 10 years.  Starting out as a teacher in a theraputic day school and then joining CPS in 2006, she has taught a wide range of students and disabilities.   In 2007, Mrs. Brandes achieved National Board Certification in Mild to Moderate Disabilities.  As a special educator, Mrs. Brandes believes in being a proactive educator and having high, realistic expecatations for students.  She is passionate about advocating for her students and inclusive practices.
In addition to teaching, Mrs. Brandes is a mom to 4 daughters and 1 son ranging in age from 4 months to 10  years old.  She enjoys reading (Yay Book Club!), knitting, and spending time with her family.
