Ms. John (Beena) joined Alexander Hamilton as counselor/ case manager two years ago. She received a Masters in School Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University and a Bachelor’s in English literature with a certificate in Middle School Education from Loyola University. In addition to this, Ms. John also holds a Masters in Creative Writing from Columbia College.  She is a member of both the American School Counseling Association and the Illinois School Counseling Association.  Prior to joining Hamilton, she was a CPS middle school Language Arts for ten years.   In her current role, Ms. John greatly enjoys working with the supportive families and the innovative staff at Hamilton.   When not at Hamilton or hanging out with her adventurous family and friends, Ms. John enjoys reading, writing fiction, traveling, yoga, and expanding her knowledge as a foodie.
