Standardized Testing at Hamilton

K-2 Yearly Testing

1) NWEA MAP tests in Reading and Math (online). Test given two times a year. (40-60 minutes per test)

2) Leveled reading (Mondo) test — assesses student’s reading level. Test given quarterly. (10-30 minutes per test)

3) REACH performance tasks (reading and math). Test given twice a year to assess student growth. This test is required by state law. (40 minutes per test)

4) Access test (only given to English Language Learners). (120 minutes)

Total approximate testing time per year for a non ELL student = 360 -520 minutes.

Grades 3-8 Yearly Testing

1) NWEA MAP test in Reading and Math (online). Test given two times a year. (40-60 minutes per test)

2) REACH performance task (content based). Test given twice a year to assesses student growth. This test is required by state law (40 minutes per test)

3) PARCC Assessment in Reading, Math (420 – 630 minutes)

4) ISBE Science for Grades 5 and 8 (55 minutes)

5) Access test (only given to English Language Learners). (120 minutes)

Total* approximate testing time per year for a non ELL student in grades 3-8 = 620-885 minutes

Grades K-8  Weekly Arts and Physical Education at Hamilton

1) Arts instruction per week – 225 minutes

2) Physical education per week = 150 minutes

3) Recess per week = 150 minutes
