Library in the Intermediate Grades

Intermediate grade level classes come to the library once a week. Each week we highlight books covering a variety of genres & topics. We read stories together (picture books, short novels, poetry, non-fiction, etc.). Students in 3rd-5th grade are allowed to check out two books to take home or for classroom reading.
Our focus for Intermediate Grades is to continue to foster a love of reading. We also work to help students expand their reading capacity by choosing books that are longer or address more challenging subjects. (We still love picture books in these grades!)
Students in Intermediate Grades are responsible for returning or renewing their books each week.
Volunteers are able to engage students by helping them find & select titles. Library volunteers can also aid students in discovering a new genre or subject they may not have considered reading.
